According to the press office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the organization plans to raise approximately $290 million to support Ukrainian farmers. The announcement on this matter was issued after the FAO meeting with the ministers of agriculture of the G7 countries and the ministers of agriculture of Georgia and Moldova.
FAO Chief Economist Maximo Torero presented the Rapid Response Plan for Ukraine in 2024 and the FAO Development Strategy for Ukraine (2024-2027). The presented documents show that FAO intends to allocate USD 150 million for ad hoc operations and crisis activities that are intended to meet the urgent needs of over 800,000 people. inhabitants of rural areas of Ukraine in 2024.
