
According to police estimates, a total of 700 people using 580 tractors blocked roads in 16 places in Greater Poland on Monday. Pickets in the region ended in the afternoon.
Press spokesman for the Wielkopolska Police, Junior Insp. Andrzej Borowiak informed that on Monday, farmers blocked roads in a total of 16 points. According to police estimates, 700 people and 580 tractors took part in them. Borowiak announced after 17 that all gatherings have already ended.
Difficulties related to agricultural protests on roads in Greater Poland began on Monday around 8. As reported by GDDKiA, the demonstrators blocked, among others, national road No. 24 in Kwilcz (Międzychodzki poviat), or national road No. 32 in Strykowo on the section Grodzisk Wielkopolski – Stęszew. Difficulties – in both directions – also occurred, among others: on the S5 expressway between the Poznań Mosina and Kościan Południe junctions, or on the S11 between the Poznań Napachanie and Poznań Zachód junctions.

For several weeks, farmers have been protesting in many European Union countries, opposing, among others, provisions of the European Green Deal, or cheap import of agricultural products from outside the EU. The Green Deal introduces many guidelines, including: for agriculture. They are intended to enable the EU to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
