Ukrainian companies that break the rules on exporting agricultural production include: to Poland, will be removed from the verification lists of authorized entities for six months, the Ministry of Agriculture in Kiev announced on Monday.
– From now on, a company may be excluded from the list of verified entities (…) if information comes from Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary or Poland that production intended for transit through these countries will remain in these countries – said in a message on Facebook.
This topic was discussed during an online meeting attended by Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture Mykola Solski and his Bulgarian counterpart Kirill Vytev.
Removal from the list of verified enterprises for 6 months
Solski explained that if, for example, a Ukrainian company declares that it is sending a load of sunflower seeds to Greece and it remains in Bulgaria, the Ukrainian company will be removed from the list of verified companies for six months.
Last week, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski, informed that Poland was talking to Ukraine about a licensing system for imports from Ukraine. He explained that the idea was to define import quotas for certain goods that could not be exceeded.
Trade liberalization introduced in 2022, enabling Ukraine to introduce its goods without customs duties, is very beneficial for the Ukrainian economy, but it cannot harm Polish farmers, Solski said.
