Celebrating National FFA Week 2024 and ways to support it

Each year, FFA chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. It’s a time to share what FFA is and its impact on members daily throughout the week. National FFA Week will be celebrated this year from Feb. 17 to 24, 2024.

What better way to show your support of FFA than to get involved in FFA Week? Whether in person, on the phone, or via social media, be sure to share your FFA stories during #FFAweek!

There are a number of initiatives and ways to help contribute to FFA throughout this designated week. Here are a few highlights:

Contribute to Grants for Growing at Tractor Supply all week

All week, visit your local Tractor Supply store, to purchase $1 paper emblems at checkout. Proceeds will benefit Grants for Growing, a competitive grant program for middle and high school FFA chapters that are developing and improving project-based or experiential learning opportunities for students.

FFA chapters may apply for up to $5,000 through the TSC-sponsored G4G program. Grants for Growing provides funding to support one of three areas:

    • Grow Your Classroom: Funding can be used to support increasing students’ classroom knowledge.
    • Grow Your FFA Chapter: Funding can be used to support the development or expansion of an FFA chapter and leadership opportunities.
    • Grow Your Ag Awareness: Funding can be used to support the development or expansion of an agricultural literacy event or campaign.

Celebrate FFA alumni on Tuesday

Tuesday, Feb. 20, celebrate the key role that FFA alumni and supporters play in student and chapter success.

Give FFA Day on Thursday

Thursday, Feb. 22, consider giving or encouraging giving to FFA to support students and chapters. For the past eight years, the National FFA has hosted this online fundraising event to encourage 24 hours of philanthropy across the nation in support of nearly 950,000 FFA Members nationwide.

Last year, alumni, members, and friends of FFA donated more than $822,000 on Give FFA Day. The beauty of Give FFA Day is that all gifts made to National FFA on Give FFA Day can be designated to the donor’s state FFA of choice.

Some states, such as New York FFA, have campaigns to demonstrate collaboration. “New York FFA raised $32,167 from 163 donors – a truly impressive result given it was their first year participating. Retired Ag teacher Sam Shapiro, from John Bowne in Queens, pledged matching gift funds to encourage giving. Sam agreed to match every gift, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000,” reports the New York FFA Leadership Training Foundation.
