Carriers claim that the agricultural protests are directly affecting their operations. The situation is the worst for companies from the west of the country.
Carriers point out that farmers’ strikes have a negative impact on their industry.
– Even a minor delay may prevent us from meeting our obligations – says Ellina Lolis from Maszoński Logistic, adding that the farmers’ campaign is treated very seriously in the company.
They add that bypassing the roadblocks involves extending the route and additional costs, and the rates set for journeys do not take into account detours.
Carriers are counting losses
According to drivers, 60% of planned deliveries did not arrive at one of the logistics centers of a large retail chain.
Farmers’ protests have been going on almost continuously since January. In fact, some roads in the country are blocked every day. Demonstrations take place not only on access roads, but also on expressways and highways. There are also blockades of logistics centers of large retail chains. Despite strong public support, dissatisfaction resulting from the difficulties caused by farmers is becoming more and more common.
Therefore, the protesters announced that the form of the strike would change. Most protests will be suspended until Christmas. After Easter, demonstrations will take place in front of parliamentary offices.
