Farmer.pl asked the Ministry of Agriculture with this question. Here’s the answer.
It has been over two months since the Minister of Agriculture, Czesław Siekierski, promised farmers that they would pay agricultural tax for 2024 at the rates applicable in 2023.
Currently, payment orders are issued in municipalities and the deadline for paying the first installment is approaching, but unfortunately – as farmers report – the promised lower rates are not included in them.
– So what about the reduced agricultural tax for 2024? – they ask.

Here’s the answer.
– We kindly inform you that pursuant to Art. 6 section 3 of the Act of November 15, 1984 on agricultural tax (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2020, item 333 and of 2023, item 1450), the Commune Council is entitled to reduce the purchase price of rye determined on the basis of the announcement of the President of the Central Statistical Office , published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Poland “Monitor Polski”, adopted as the basis for calculating agricultural tax in the area of municipalities – informs the Press Department of the Department of Communication and Promotion at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
And adds:
– The draft legal act enabling the refund of part of the agricultural tax to agricultural producers from the state budget will be the subject of arrangements and social consultations after additional expenses are allocated in the state budget to finance the planned program of additional assistance for agricultural producers.
So for now, there is no fulfillment of the promise made.
