Last week brought a significant increase in prices of both domestic and imported weaners. The rates currently observed are the highest since June last year.
This is not a major surprise – the announcement of the increases was yesterday’s session of the Danish stock exchange, which ended with an increase in the prices of weaners by 20 crowns (i.e. about PLN 12).
Prices of imported weaners
We have noticed proportional increases in the prices of imported animals: according to our survey, depending on the health status, an imported wean costs from PLN 488 to PLN 560/piece, with the average selling price of animals is PLN 532/piece. , compared to PLN 516/pcs a week ago.
Prices of domestic weaners
We also recorded increases in the case of domestic animals. A weaner weighing 30 kg currently costs from PLN 475 to PLN 515/piece. The average selling price is PLN 497/piece, i.e. PLN 14 more than a week ago.
On the other hand a domestic weaner weighing 20 kg currently costs PLN 400/piece, i.e. PLN 6 more than a week ago. Prices range from PLN 370 to PLN 450/pcs.
Weaner pig prices in 2023
Last year’s maximum prices for weaner pigs were recorded in the middle of the year. At that time, the prices of weaners weighing 30 kg exceeded the limit of PLN 565, while animals weighing 20 kg cost on average over PLN 450. At that time, an imported pig cost on average nearly PLN 580/piece. These were also historical price highs.
The lowest prices were valid at the beginning of last year. At that time, a wean weighing 30 kg cost an average of PLN 410/piece, and a pig weighing 20 kg cost an average of PLN 310/piece. and an imported weaner was valued on average at PLN 410/piece.
