14 people were charged with riots near the Sejm

The Warsaw Police Headquarters announced that 14 people have already been charged for participating in clashes with the police during the strike in Warsaw.

According to the Warsaw Police Headquarters, 26 people were detained as a result of yesterday’s clashes with the police during the farmers’ protest. 14 of them have already been charged.

The suspects will be charged with, among other things, participating in a rally, insulting and violating the bodily integrity of police officers. The charges also concern exposing a person to the risk of loss of life or serious bodily harm, as well as drug crimes, the police say.

Almost half of those detained were drunk

According to KSP, 14 policemen were injured. One of them had to stay in the hospital longer. At the same time, the police emphasize that almost half of those detained were under the influence of alcohol.

Alcohol increases aggression. Yesterday, of the 26 people detained, almost half were drunk. The record holder had 1.6 per mille of alcohol in his body – the Warsaw Police Headquarters reported.

KSP informed that due to the physical aggression of some people protesting at ul. Wiejska against police officers, they were forced to use means of direct coercion.

It should be emphasized that previously these people were asked to behave in accordance with the law – the command wrote on the X website.

The City Hall estimates that approximately 30,000 people participated in Wednesday’s protest.
